Community Consultation

Before we submit any major planning, or development consent applications for a new nuclear power station development, we will continue to carry out public consultations to seek the views of the local community, the general public, local authorities and a range of statutory and other non-statutory bodies.

Listening to your views

As well as the Power Station itself, there are a number of off-site facilities and associated developments we need to build, to operate Wylfa Newydd safely and efficiently.

There are no consultations currently open.

You can read more about previous consultations that are now closed on our consultation website.

Stage Two consultation

Between 31 August and 25 October 2016, we held our second stage of pre application consultation for the Wylfa Newydd Project.

We shared our latest plans and documents, held events across Anglesey and North Wales, and asked for people's views on all aspects of the Project.  This was the last scheduled consultation on the Project as a whole before we submit our application for a Development Consent Order in 2017. You can find out more about what we consulted on here.

Statement of Community Consultation

We have set out our commitment on how we will consult communities on our proposals in a Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC). The final version of our SOCC has been advertised in local and regional media and is available by clicking on the link below.

Our SOCC explains how we will formally consult with people living in the vicinity of the proposed development and how people can have their say on our plans.

This document has been produced in formal consultation with Isle of Anglesey County Council.

Since our first stage of pre-application consultation closed in December 2014, we have been working to analyse the feedback we received.

We have produced a feedback report which provides an overview of our consultation activities and the responses we received.  You can view the report by clicking on the links below.

We believe there is a compelling requirement for new nuclear power in the UK to help tackle the vital and complex challenge of delivering a sustainable energy future.
