Resources to start you on your career path.

Futures activities for young people in Post 16 education are aimed at providing students considering a career in the nuclear industry with more in depth information about the choices available to them. This develops the employability skills the students will need and offers more focused STEM related programmes.

Work Insight Week 2018

In the summer we run a Work Insight Week for 14 students from years 11, 12 and 13 who are currently studying at an Anglesey or north Gwynedd Secondary School or Further Education College. Students get a chance to spend a day at Wylfa Newydd, undertaking team challenges and learning about what it’s like to work for Horizon and in the nuclear industry.

During a week long programme, students will get the opportunity to find out how we intend to build and operate our proposed nuclear power station and will visit the site to learn more about the Project and employment opportunities Wylfa Newydd will bring to local young people.

In North Wales also we’re working in partnership with a number of organisations to deliver additional programmes linked to our aims. Some of our partnerships include:
Our support of Bangor University’s Profi Programme aims to improve employability skills and boost the confidence of young people in North Wales. More information is available here.
