Resources to inspire young minds

Futures activities for primary aged children are intended to complement the curriculum and provide extra resources for teachers and schools. We’ve worked with teachers to develop these resources and we continue to develop the programme in response to the feedback we receive.

Key Stage 2 (age 7 – 11)

Electricity and Me (Activity Pack)

Designed to engage and introduce children to the science behind low carbon energy, including nuclear. The pack supports STEM subjects and promotes group discussion, independent thinking and problem-solving skills. As well as a Teacher/Parent guide, the pack includes a PowerPoint presentation, animations and an ‘Electricity and Me’ guide to help pupils complete the activities.

Each of the six activities can be completed in class or at home and will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes, although some will require a little advance preparation. Except for the animations, all of the materials can be printed.

The six activity sessions are:
  1. Calculating your carbon footprint
  2. What is low carbon energy?
  3. How much low carbon energy are we using?
  4. How does nuclear energy work?
  5. How you can save the planet?
If you are an Anglesey based school and would like support to deliver the activities please contact

Electricity and You (App)
A short, fun app designed to get children thinking about how they use electricity in the home and how nuclear power stations generate electricity. The App is also supported by a set of downloadable Maths worksheets. The App can be downloaded onto Apple and Android tablets.

We’re continually looking at how we can support teachers. We’re currently developing a resource for KS1 so please come back in the future and see what we have that’s new.
